Miami Lakes is a small Miami suburb located in Miami-Dade county, with development beginning in 1962. The town’s original development was planned by Lester Collins and featured a curved design unlike many neighboring cities. Miami Lakes features plenty of shopping centers and other amenities. The community also features a unique Veteran’s Memorial inside the Royal Oaks Park Community Center, which includes a 50-foot mural of military scenes. The city is dedicated to education, with five public schools, two private schools, and a magnet school. Located between Pembroke Pines and Hialeah, it offers quick access to Miami Beach, Miami International Airport, and the Port of Miami.
