Though it is a small town, Golden Beach is quite convenient to the big cities of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Incorporated in 1929, Golden Beach is a small, exclusive community. Commercial activity and high-rise condominiums are prohibited by the Town Charter, allowing Golden Beach to preserve its idyllic charm and family atmosphere. A 1.8-mile private beach features a historic beach pavilion. There are also three parks within the town. The community has around 370 single-family homes, mostly located either on the Intracoastal Waterway or the Atlantic Ocean.
